Late Friday, Headquarters Marine Corps released the following three-minute video featuring Commandant Gen. Jim Amos and his top enlisted adviser, Sgt. Maj. Carlton Kent, discussing the imminent repeal of the “don’t ask don’t tell” policy, which since the 1990s has prohibited military service by men and women who are openly homosexual.

The pair explain that the service has established an operational planning team that’s working with the Defense Department “to determine the best way forward.” They do not specify any forthcoming changes or indicate what the timetable is for implementation.
However, both lean heavily on leaders throughout the ranks — “from junior Marines to the most senior,” Kent says — to spread word that as the law is changed, Marines must “continue to treat one another with dignity and respect.”
“As always,” Kent says, “engaged leadership will be the key to implementation.”

Bravo Zulu to General Amos and SGM Kent, this is the final nail in the coffin of “don’t ask, don’t tell”. It will soon be in the trashbin of history and missed like Jim Crow and Separate but Equal.
Respectfully will those of us who for reasons of conscience be allowed to leave the corps? God duty honor and country no longer matter. The marxist gay lobby is winning and you are silent.now you are faithless.
Seriously Im a grunt an 0331 to be exact and don’t ask don’t tell is a perfect concept I don’t care if your gay as long as you fight just don’t hit on me
What if I signed a contract under the terms that I would not be serving with openly gay service members? Will my contract now be null and void?
OK so lets say these two rough Marines are seen dressed in a thong, high heels, fake tits and sucking face during a gay pride parade on sat. will you follow them into hell on monday? I dont think so and it will happen! Just more BS from the politically correct crown that does’nt really understand leadership.
We now live in the “Twilight Zone” the old 50’s scifi.
A nightmare, when they do this, you really can bend over and kiss your a__ good-by.
Everything is so twisted these days it HAS to be supernatural.
Another thing you can kiss-good-by after this, and I can hardly believe I’m saying this, but even more than I, dislike, officers, after this the president, the commandant, and everyone who favors this stuff, can kiss Semper-Fi, goodby.
Our society has crossed over into the military agaon with their weak look on what is right and what is wrong and what the country was founded on. I feel soyry for the Military members who have to deal with this now, especially Marines. But, having said that, we have always done what our country has asked us to do in all services and this will be no different. Your still a Marine and you will adapt and over come no matter what. You all are in my prayers daily. Hooah! 36 year Army Vet.
Once again a small minority gains an advantage over the majority with government intervention. I do not blame Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, and Marines for ending their terms of enlistment. Too many decisions are made by people who do not face the reality of their decisions. They have no concept of the consequences. The end of DADT is in no way shape or form the same as ending segregation in the services.
